Beautiful and rare map from 'L'Isole Piu Famose Del Mondo ' by Tomaso Porcacchi,Porcacchi's famous and beautiful isolario, containing maps of the islands of the world.The map is one of the earliest copper engraved maps one can find.This is from the 1575 (second edition and a copy of the dated colophon will be included) and the maps are a very strong impression.Set in a page of text.Cartouche, sea monsters,compass rose.Mint condition.

Very rare woodcut view of London.There were 2/3 printings of Saurs' maps originally printed in 1595 with the woodcuts by Abraham Saur published by N. Basse.Later printed in in "Parvum Theatrum Urbium sive Urbium Praecipuarum totius orbis Brevis & Methodica Descriptio" by Adrianus Romanus printed 1608 in Frankfurt.Uncoloured as issued. Title: 'Middlesex olima Trinoban'. A decorative map of Middlesex.London. Details include a "Scala Milliarum" and the cartogpher is "Johannes Norden defcripsit". This maps shows towns but no connecting roads. Fold.V.good hand colour.Good condition.

Charming map of Ireland with the North at right from the Mercator Hondius "Atlas Minor" published in Amsterdam in 1648 at Jannsonius with german text on verso. In 1607 Jodocus Hondius published a reduced size version of Mercator's "Atlas", itself suitably titled "Atlas Minor". The maps were copied from those of the great cartographer Mercator of around 1580-90 or were reductions of Hondius' own maps of 1606. Almost 20 years later Joannes Janssonius commissioned a new set of copperplates to be engraved by Pieter Van Den Keere (Kaerius) and Abraham Goos. These maps were elegantly designed with decorative title cartouches, finely engraved and surprisingly detailed for their dimensions. Very good condition. Koeman "Atlantes Neerlandici" Me203.

Superb Mercator map of the British Islies.The map has a great deal of information on Elizabethan Britain.Full original colour(rare) with some pleasant age toning,good margins. Good condition. Ref: KOEMAN: ME 23A; SHIRLEY: British Isles 180 & 335.

A map from the rare Atlas Cartes de Geographie by Pierre Du Val (1619-83) son-in-law of Nicolas Sanson, ( Duval published a wide range of atlases, individual maps of the world and the continents and wall maps but most of the folio maps are rare..All the maps from this edition are revised and updated maps.Original outine colour; some minor marginal soiling, occasional light staining, otherwise very good. Shirley records this map of the British Isles as a separate publication, however I now know that it comes from a composite atlas and although this map is dated 1665 it comes from a 1676 edition. Rare map of the British Isles by Nolin,the elder,probably based on Coronelli,who Nolin was working with at the time.Interestingly at the bottom of map there is an advertisement for the 3 maps of England,Scotland & Ireland that Nolin produced with Coronelli.Decorative cartouche with the emblems of England,Ireland & Scotland.Original outline colour.A few creases otherwise very good condition for this rare map.

Small map from Mullers Neu-aussgefertigter Kleiner Atlas.Johann Ulrich Müller (1633-1715) published by Georg Wilhelm Kühnen.This is the second edition printed in Frankfurt.Charming copper engraved map with german text below,sheet size 17*10cms.Some slight spotting but overall very good. REF:2nd edition of King's book on Miniature Maps, pages 160 - 161.

Rare and interesting plan of London before and after the Great Fire, shows the extent of the damage and the plans for rebuilding in an inset plan of proposed new grid system.Very decorative with emblems etc,boats on the Thames.Finely engraved as always with Merian.Margin reinforced but no loss to map.Very good condition.
