Based on Ortelius’ map of 1570, this is the second version of the map of Africa used in later editions of Sebastian Munster’s Cosmographia published, after Munster’s death, by S.Petri. Like it’s predecessor this is a woodblock map but done more elegantly and in the style of a copperplate.Excel;lent hand colour.Good paper and a very good example of this map.
