Very attractive map of Europe by Levasseur from Atla National Illustre.This is the last edition printed some years later (after the unification of Italy and the creation Alpes Maitimes and Savoie becoming part of France) and was the only edition with original colour.

Superb very early example of Mercator's map of Europe from an early edition of his atlas. No text on back only an embellished title Europa.Includes an ornate cartouche. The map was updated and the cartouche etc. changed in 1606, making these early examples scarce on the market.Currently the only full original colour example I can find.Some centre fold wear and reinforcing on a left margin that was cropped a little close without any loss (there is no loss on map at all)otherwise not a bad example.RARE SOLD
