This is the first edition of the Munster map and shows all of France and parts of the surrounding countries. The Celtic names of the various inhabitants are shown in their respective regions. On the left side is a list of the regions of France, the latin name and modern name.superb hand colour.Very good condition.

One of the earliest attainable views of Paris.Shows Paris in 1530. From the 1550 of Munster's "Cosmographiae Universalis". An exceptionally good example.

Beautiful and rare map from 'L'Isole Piu Famose Del Mondo ' by Tomaso Porcacchi,Porcacchi's famous and beautiful isolario, containing maps of the islands of the world.The map is one of the earliest copper engraved maps one can find.This is from the 1575 (second edition and a copy of the dated colophon will be included) and the maps are a very strong impression.Set in a page of text.Cartouche, sea monsters,compass rose.Mint condition.
