Very scarce map.From the Barent Langenes Caert Thresoor of 1598 (map actually dated 1596) and this is from the 1600 French text edition.The Italy maps were engraved by Petrus Kaerius (Van Den Keere). This small but attractive atlas was sold for the first time in 1599 by Cornelis Claesz in Amsterdam. In 1600, Claesz published the atlas with a Latin text composed by Petrus Bertius.The later and more common editions with larger reengraved maps appeared from 1606.Very good condition.KOEMAN,Atlantes Neerlandici,Vol ii Lan 9.Cervoni 18.
