Rare. Uncommon map of Scandinavia tilted on to the side.Printed in the Atlas Caert-Thresoor. The plates were engraved by the most famous engravers in Amsterdam, including Petrus Kaerius and Jodocus Hondius I. Excellent hand colour.Mint condition.

Uncoloured. Small map view of Iceland, printed in reverse, showing mountains and the erupting volcano Mount Hecla. The sea around the island profusely decorated with illustrations of whales and whaling. Very good condition.

REF:2nd edition of King's book on Miniature Maps, pages 160 - 161.

Very large and rare map of Scandinavia including Finland and Laponie Danoise from 2 sheets joined.The map is after De L'Isle and the plates made in 1715.There is a little damp staining not really detracting from map.This is a really stunning and impressive large map of the area with original outline colouring.Centre fold but in overall good condition.
