Very scarce map.From the Barent Langenes Caert Thresoor of 1598 and this is from the 1600 French text edition.The Italy maps were engraved by Petrus Kaerius (Van Den Keere). This small but attractive atlas was sold for the first time in 1599 by Cornelis Claesz in Amsterdam. In 1600, Claesz published the atlas with a Latin text composed by Petrus Bertius.The later and more common editions with larger reengraved maps appeared from 1606.Very good condition.KOEMAN,Atlantes Neerlandici,Vol ii Lan 9.

Covers modern day Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, the Falkland Islands, Tierra del Fuego, and Cape Horn. Shows numerous fictional mountain ranges in Patagonia and central Argentina. Names a number of indigenous groups and mission stations throughout. Highly detailed, showing towns, rivers, some topographical features, and political boundaries. Very good condition.

Shows the direction of the currents, bays, points, soundings, harbors, islands, shoals, etc. Includes the best route throught the straits, as then known in the lat 18th Century. Includes many insets of various parts of the Straits, as well as soundings and other details. Excellent hand colour.Very good condition.
