Oone of first available maps mentioning Sincapour as a place not straits..
A rare miniature map of the area which is now the modern countries of Malaysia and Singapore. Singapore is 'Sincapura', and the Malaysian province of Solongor(Solongor), in our day of pewter fame, appears in its correct position on the Malacca Strait. East is at the top. Title cartouche on the lower right corner.
First published in 1598 in his Caert-Thresoor, the plates were executed by the most famous engravers in Amsterdam, including Petrus Kaerius and Jodocus Hondius I.
Good hand colour
