Detailed map of North America published a few years after Independence. Interesting borders for the 13 states, Louisiana, Florida, New Mexico etc.

Uncommon small map featuring California as a peninsula as opposed to an earlier version which was depicted as an Island in addition to a rather imaginative Pacific Northwest showing a large inlet with an attached Onbekend Land that stretches across the Pacific, perhaps all the way to Asia. The Mississippi River has a tributary loosely drawn from Lahontan's Riviere Longue, here named the Moingona R. The map is filled with minutely engraved place names, and decorated with a simple compass rose.

A nice blend of Indian Names, territorial claims, and early cartography. This is an very rare map.
